Have An Interest In Joining The Fire Service?

We are always looking for new members to join the ranks of the fire department.  Any person who is at least 18 years of age who lives and/or works within our fire district is eligible to join.  

If you want to know a little more about being an Egypt member, stop down on the 1st, 3rd, or 4th Monday of month and observe on of our training drills.  Drill starts at 7:15 PM at our main station at the corner Mason Rd & Route 31 and runs for an hour to hour and half.

We will provide all of the training and equipment to become a fully qualified interior firefighter.   Listed below are the requirements for joining the department as an active interior qualified firefighter:

• Be at least 18 Years of Age at the time the application is submitted

• Reside or work with-in the Egypt Fire Protection District

• Pass both a criminal and arson background investigation

• Complete the new member interview

• Pass a firefighter physical and drug screen prior to being voted into the department

Another membership option is to become a Civil Member, no firefighter duties, of the department where you can work on various projects around the department.

Once your application is received, your name will be reviewed by the Trustees of the department and then sent to the membership for consideration.  Your application will be presented at the next scheduled membership meeting after successful completion of the physical and drug screen where it will be tabled for thirty (30) days.  After the 30 days a vote will be conducted regarding granting you membership into department.  Once you have been approved by the membership and the Town of Perinton you will then be able to participate as a member of the department.
